Tactical Trader was launched in 2002 by Rob and Steve Anderton with one simple aim: to become the leading information resource for the independent trader and investor.

Since then Tactical Trader has developed into a highly successful and recognised provider of a range of valuable services. The Tactical Trader website has become increasingly popular with traders and investors of all abilities thanks to its reputation for free, high quality, independent information.

A crucial element of Tactical Trader’s success is that Steve and Rob are a highly profitable trading team. Without having a City or trading background, they both came to trading from the ‘outside’ allowing them to fully understand the challenges faced by others who are trying to do the same.

Steve Anderton

Steve spent most of his career in General Management. Like a great many people he had been investing in equities both directly and through portfolio management and came to the conclusion he could do a better job than the ‘professionals’ in managing his wealth. As a result he set about learning all he could about trading. This was in 1999 and since then he has never looked back.

Steve is a popular speaker and writer, his ability to convey complex subjects in a simple, easy to understand way at his seminars and workshops, together with his personal story, provides considerable inspiration for all those who want to become profitable traders.

Rob Anderton

After graduating with a degree in Computer Studies, Rob spent several years working in the IT industry. It was during a six month project working on the trading systems Tullett Liberty that he became hooked on trading.

With his computing and mathematical background Rob is responsible for developing the trading strategies and technical analysis techniques used by Steve in his trading.

In addition Rob is responsible for the design, development and administration of the Tactical Trader website. In 2005 the site was completely redeveloped by Rob using proprietary code, rather than off-the-shelf packages, and was designed to comply with the latest web development standards.
