Statistics

• Visits
  On average 12,000 people visit Tactical Trader each month. A visit is recorded when a visitor first views a page on the Tactical Trader website. Any subsequent pages viewed by the visitor are treated as part of the same visit. If the same visitor returns to the site at a later time, a new visit will be recorded.

• Page views
  Each time a visitor to the site requests a page the number of page views increases by one. Visitors to Tactical Trader view an average of 160,000 pages each month.

• Hits
  Tactical Trader receives an average of 1.2 million hits each month. All requests for files made to the Tactical Trader website are recorded as hits - this includes requests for pages, images and any other files that are required by the visitor.

Tactical Trader has a truly global audience with 16% of visitors coming from mainland Europe, 16% from the USA, 4% from the Asia-Pacific region and 62% from the United Kingdom. The screenshot shown below is taken from our Trader Locator service and perfectly illustrates our world-wide coverage.

Registration is currently optional for visitors and on average 100 new members register each month with the largest group of members being 40 year old males. The chart below shows the percentage of registered members in different age groups:

Advertisement types

We offer five types of advertisement, each of which is described below. It is possible for several advertisers to purchase advertisements of the same type at the same time - when this happens either one advert will be chosen at random each time the page is loaded. In the large horizontal and small banner positions (see below) it is also possible that a Google AdSense advertisement will be chosen (the choice being biased towards non-AdSense adverts). We keep track of the number of times an advertisement is displayed and clicked on and we can provide this data should you require it.

Home page advertisement

Advertising on the home page gives you the most prominent and exclusive position on the Tactical Trader website.

No other advertisements are shown on the home page, which means that in addition to its large size, a home page advertisement is guaranteed to make an impact.

The maximum size of this advertisement is 400 pixels wide and 200 pixels high. The advertisement is shown below the list of articles (see the examples below).

Trader Locator advertisement

The global Trader Locator allows members from around the world to discover other traders in their area.

Only one advertisement is shown on the Trader Locator page, positioned at the same level on the page as the world map for maximum impact. Due to the popularity of the Trader Locator service, advertising on this page will ensure your advertisement is seen by a large number of people on a regular basis.

The maximum size of this advertisement is 200 pixels wide and 600 pixels high. It is positioned in the right-most column of the page above the Resources section (see the examples below).

Large banner advertisement

The large banner advertisement is the ideal choice if you require exposure across the website with a high number of impressions. Large banner advertisements are shown in highly visible locations on almost all pages of the website, and have larger dimensions than those found on many other websites.

There are two types of large banner advertisement:

• Horizontal banners
  Maximum size of 700 pixels wide and 80 pixels high.

• Skyscraper banners
  Maximum size of 200 pixels wide and 600 pixels high.

The position for large horizontal banner advertisements varies depending on the type of page being viewed:

• On listing pages (e.g. articles and reviews) it is situated immediately below the page selection controls

• On article, blog post and review reading pages it is situated immediately above the comments section

• On all other pages the advertisement is situated below the main page content

Large skyscraper banners are positioned in the right-most column of the page either above the Resources section or below it depending on the page being viewed.

Large banners are not shown on the home page or the Trader Locator page as these are reserved exclusively for other advertisement types.

Small banner advertisement

The small banner advertisement offers a lower cost alternative to large banners while still providing the benefits of exposure across the website and a high number of impressions.

Small banners are shown on all pages except for the home page and the Trader Locator page.

The maximum size of this advertisement is 200 pixels wide and 200 pixels high. It is positioned in the right-most column of the page either above the Resources section or below it depending on the page being viewed.

Targeted advertisement

A targeted advertisement allows you to place an advertisement on a specific articles, blogs (meaning they are shown on all blog posts belonging to a specific blog) and reviews.

An example of this type of advertisement would be a software vendor using a targeted advertisement on an article where trading software is discussed. This is similar to the notion of a sponsored article and would mean that the vendor’s advertisement would be shown every time a visitor to the site read the article.

The maximum size of this advertisement is 200 pixels wide and 200 pixels high. It is positioned in the top right corner of articles, blog posts and reviews.

Event listings

A Tactical Trader event listing is the perfect way to promote your event to potential attendees. When you list your event on Tactical Trader you get:

• A listing on the events page showing the event name, date, and location

• An event details page where you can provide a description of the event, including formatting, images and links

In addition, up to five events are shown on the home page, further increasing exposure of your event.

Featured events

A featured event ensures maximum exposure for your event by giving you the opportunity to have a form of advertisement shown in a prominent position on the home page.

The maximum size of this featured event is 200 pixels wide and 100 pixels high. It is positioned above the event listing section of the home page (see the examples below).

Supported formats

Advertisements can be provided in gif, animated gif, jpeg and png formats. We also support Macromedia Flash animations, however an alternative image in gif, jpeg and png format must also be provided (this will be used when a visitor to the site does not have Flash capability). We do not support JavaScript based advertisements at this time.

Rates
