Mark Wolfinger has been in the options business since 1977, when he became a market maker on the trading floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). More recently he has been an educator of individual investors, showing them how to use options conservatively to enhance returns and reduce market risk.
His recent book, Create Your Own Hedge Fund: Increase Profits and Reduce Risk with ETFs & Options (published by John Wiley & Sons, February 2005) outlines his conservative methods for individual investors. His first book, The Short Book on Options: A Conservative Strategy for the Buy and Hold Investor teaches the most basic options concepts to people who are first learning about options.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, he currently resides in Evanston, Illinois with his life partner, Penny, and their two cats. He earned a B.S. degree from Brooklyn College and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University. Mark can be reached via his website www.mdwoptions.com.
